Welcome to the website of the Redlands Creative Alliance

This site will supplement strong professional relationships within the Redlands arts and cultural network with a vibrant online community consisting of artists, creative industry and cultural workers, art-lovers and supporters.

Artists can profile their work, advertise events, place general notices, post blog entries and upload photos and interested members of the public can closely follow the activity of the local arts and cultural industry.

Whether you are a student, an amateur, emerging or professional artist, we invite you to join our community!

Animating Spaces Forum –  An exciting event for all of Redland’s art community.

Animating Spaces Forum –  An exciting event for all of Redland’s art community.

7pm Wednesday 23 May Yurara Art Society Gallery, Pinklands Reserve, Thornlands

Redlands has been selected as one of five regional communities across Queensland to partner with Artslink Queensland to participate in Animating Spaces 2013,and will co-host a community engagement workshop on May 23 with Artslink’s  Creative Communities Director Letitia Norton to further develop the prospective partnership.

This follows an Expression of Interest submission by Redlands Arts Council along with Redland City Council, and Redland Creative Alliance in early March, to participate in a proposed Animating Spaces Project, to revitalise regional communities through the arts in 2013.

The forum will share the Animating Spaces concept to the wider community, the process of partnership development and how the project could work, further partnership development with some stimuli and possible ideas, and in particular to have the community share their ideas, meet each other and ask questions.  Written submissions can also be submitted on the night.

At this workshop Artslink will also be looking to identify people interested to drive particular projects and will speak a little about Artslink Queensland.

For catering purposes please phone Susan Russell on 3286 2927 if you are attending, and please bring a fold-up chair as seating is limited at the gallery.

Additional Note: I May Sheppard as your Chair will be overseas at the time of the Artslink visit. However my deputy Chair Barbra Elvin will be present representing the Redland's Creative Alliance. Please contact her at the forum for support. Please contact me at redlands.creative.alliance@gmail.com.

WANTED - your photos!

Hi everybody,

I'm Janet, I work with Elise and help her by putting together the Artmail each month. I take pride in my work and love to make it look pretty ... but I am very sad because our well of images is running dry! How can this be in an ARTS network?!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it (and I really hope you will!) is to send me images of your artworks that I can use. I know you're a talented bunch, I've seen the pix here on this Ning site but…

The script is written by Donna Cameron, with music composed by Colin Offord, shot by Randal Wood and stars Renee Lim.

Then head to our crowdfunding site to support us paying the actors…

New Directions with Familiar Objects

The lovely Gladys Martoo invited me to display some of the works from my recent exhibition ("ex libris olim" at Redland Museum) in the reception area display space at Sheldon College, so if you happen to be moving through this particular part of the Sheldon College campus, please stop and have a look.

I have begun working on a new strand of altered book works involving a bit of mechanisation, so my brain is happily working out strategies and I am happy to have found a further…
